Do the easy things first. Assure plugs wires are correctly positioned. Use a continuity tester to make it easier. Eliminate one item at a time, keeping track what was changed, replaced, moved.... Let us know what ya found. Where'd the engine come from?

What's the issue? Assuming it was quality synthetic, 0w40 is Porsche-approved according to these TSBs:

https://www.porscheclubgb.com/PCGB/m...0.pdf?ext=.pdf

20W50, however, is nowhere to be found on the lists...

Probably because Porsche recommended it.

Not that they were right, but he has seen the error of his way and corrected it.

You should applaud him.

I honestly had no idea on the 0/40. When I bought mine 7 years ago, this forum and the plethora of threads on oil gave me my guidance.

Since I live in Texas and the 100 degrees summers, the heavier weight made sense on an air cooled engine.

I will say ...the mobil v-twin works amazingly well...in my car :-)

Thanks for posting this pic - I'm installing cruise control (when I get a harness organised) and this shows the servo mounting points nicely!

Smile Good Turn Out

I just got it back this week from the shop.. In a series of fortunate events it turned out to be that the reason there was low oil pressure was a oil release piston was not put back in when the engine was being tinkered with/ swapped. Also the misfires where from one of the main sliders for the ignition system being loose.. All is well with this car now Thank you all for your input

That's the kind of thing that could very well have caused internal damage -- bearings, oil pump, valvetrain, etc. Everything that is sensitive to oil pressure. If you actually drove your car around for extended periods with low oil pressure at 285F degrees, well........if I was you, I would be having a serious conversation with the shop that left the oil pressure relief valve out of your engine. Unreal.

I would at least have valve covers removed to inspect cams and rockers for evidence of oil starvation.

Did anyone figure out what the “sliders” were?

Trying to diagnose a misfire and maybe there is something here...
