Recommended spacer sizes for a lowered car?
I recently installed new suspension bits on my '95 C2 and the car is set to RS +10 ride height. The height looks great to me, but it seems the wheels are a bit too "tucked in" now. The wheels are stock 17" Cup II with 55 mm offset.
Any suggestions on what size spacers might help things look better? Thanks for any/all advice!

Although its not as good looking, I think aerodynamically you are better off with the wheels tucked in a little as per stock configuration.
Someone with more expertise could weigh in on that, but I remember reading it and it makes sense to me.
Not sure if its really a practical or noticeable difference though...

I also learned through a friend that even 5mm spacer will put a lot of unnecessary load on wheel bearings and esp steering rack, will not be happy. I reconsidered the $400 'appearance' mod after that discussion.

I was just looking into this yesterday. Check out this thread, https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...ers-front.html, especially Bill V's post at the end.
I think I'm just going to hold out for proper wheels and accept that the Cup IIs will be tucked in. It looks fine from the side. I'm not comfortable with and wasn't previously aware of the scrub radius impact.

I do know 5mm spacers are the OE optional size, so I would think going up to this limit would not adversely impact bearings, steering rack, etc.
Based on Bill V's advice, however - which I'm learning is always a good thing to do! - maybe different sized wheels/offsets is the way to go. I'll just have to save up for a while for new wheels, with 18" RUF wheels being the unobtainable grail...

This could be true, however I've been running my street only 993 with hub-centric spacers on the rears only for 7 years and have yet to have a problem with my bearings/steering rack or anything else

Proper spacers work, as long as you have the stud length for them.

I am currently running 18" RUF's with 7mm spacers in rear and 5mm spacers (Based on Opo's advice) on the fronts, been doing so for years without any issues.

Just another reason to start a "one day I'll get the RUF's" fund... 😄
