Can I use an H&R 5mm spacer on my front wheels 18x8.5 ET+52? Adaptec Yes / H&R No?
Hi Gang,
I'd like to push out my front wheels, which are 18x8.5 ET+52, just a little bit, and fit 5mm spacers.
I know AdaptecSpeedware sells a set of 5mm spacers.
I also looked up the H&R application catalog. Interestingly enough for the 993 they start at only 7mm, not 5mm!!
And, for more modern Porsches like the 991, they list both 5mm and 7mm spacers .... and the 7mm spacers have the same exact part number as that for the 993 !
I called up H&R and asked their application guys about it. They said, "Yes, a 5mm is theoretically a more conservative spacer, and yes, since both 5 and 7mm spacers are both flat spacers, a 5mm spacer leaves more of the wheel hub exposed to engage your wheel, so theoretically that is more conservative. However, we have not tested the 5mm spacer on a 993 so we cannot comment on fitment."
What do you think guys?

NVM, I think I figured it out. for the 993, H&R specifies DRS spacers, whereas 991s can use flat DR spacers.
