You should be aware that to get the part number off of the ECU you will have to drill out the shear bolts that anchor it to the floor of the car. When you put it back together you will need replacement bolts.
I believe there is a DIY for this on p-car.com. You can also search the archives for a number of discussions ...
Are you doing this to change the chip?

I believe you can slot the shear bolts with a Dremel & then unscrew/reinstall them. (No personal experience - just what I've read here).

Hi Phil,
Dan is referring to a Dremel Tool which is a small high speed rotary electric grinding tool. Comes with attachments to do a lot of things, incredably handy. Available at Home Depot plus a bunch of other places, probably Wally M. too. Sears sells a Craftsman clone of this tool.

Sorry. As Dick posted, Dremel makes very high speed, hand held rotary tools w/accessories to do a wide variety of chores, including a cutting wheel that can easily & quickly slot a bolt. Other manufacturers make similar tools.
It's easy to find a reason to buy one

The dremel is God's gift to the DIYer. Once you've gone Dremel, you could never go back to life without it!

Gibo 993,
I think that you should get your local specialist to check out your ECU loom VERY CAREFULLY.
It has been well documented on this site about potential loom problems on these models.
A faulty trigger on one injector, could be due to loom problems, although you are right to also try and swap a known good ECU to see if the problem is solved
Good luck

Hi
I would also like to add that if I were you I would make damm sure that your wiring loom is OK.
I am not a Porsche technician by any stretch of the imagination but reading the posts here about the wiring loom problems, some sound similar to your problem.
Tito.
