Yep, when I saw the 12/12/16 date coming up the Beatles reference stuck in my head for about a week.
Oddly, I don't have a lot of 993 photos. I'll try to fix that.
Except for one or two winters, I've driven it year 'round, so it's no garage queen, but I've kept it in excellent shape, including a soup to nutz engine-out clutch, synchros, wires, all seals, engine compartment insulation, all belts, new DME, new battery, everything-you-should-do-while-you're-in-there rehab last spring. Every dang seal and o-ring in that engine is a brand new Porsche part. The engine is so smooth and dry. I had that work done at a dealer so I paid up for it some, but I'm super happy with the work. I replaced the old POS Monroes many moons ago, of course.
It's got the 18" twists, motor sound and that's about it. Arctic silver/black. I did spring for the classic radio awhile back.
In reply to one question, I and my indi Porsche guy were always aware of the SAI issue and ran lots of cleaners through the ports over the years. I did get a CEL once that hung around for a day and then disappeared forever. That was the only scare I had about SAI in 20 years. (And the code it threw was not SAI, iirc.) We also took care of that this spring with the engine out.
Let's see, I've done three windshields (!), the door check, window controls, odometer, several batteries, a steering rack, bilsteins in '04, lots of tires, with the rears at a 2:1 ratio to fronts. In short, everything I've read about on here about long term issues has been pretty much spot on (though I've dodged a few of them, knock on wood).
Thanks again, Tim

Excellent to hear your story Tim. As you can see we'd all love to see some pics so if you can muster some up, even just a couple of new ones, with you (and your wife?) in it would be great.
You mentioned owning a Boxster which is such a delightful, very different, and the perfect compliment to your 911. I have one and toggle back and forth between driving it and my C2S. Although lately, in cool dry weather, the C2S has been winning out. These engines I find once warmed up LOVE the cold weather.
