I'm picking up my new daily driver (Mini Cooper S) on Saturday in San Jose and don't want to get dead bugs/ rock chips on it during the drive home to Los Angeles so I was wondering if anyone knows where to get some racer's tape locally here in l.a. so I can protect the front of my new Mini.
thanks,

Hey Zamirz:
After I put softer compound and wider tires on my narrowbody, I started getting some serious sandblasting on the leading edge of my rear bumper. (This was also right after I had it resprayed for the first time . . . so maybe the non-factory paint doesn't bond as well?)
Anyway, I recently had to have the rear bumper resprayed a second time and decided to put Invinci-Shield or a similar product on those leading edges. Unfortunately, time ran out and I didn't get around to ordering the Invinci-Shield. However, what I did have on hand was a roll of 1" wide, blue painters masking tape I picked up for $2. (I'd purchased it to cover black plastic areas on my car when I was using certain white polishing products with a random orbital buffer.) So, I ran a strip of this down the leading edge . . . stuck perfectly, stayed on in the rain, leaves no residue. Might want to give it a shot . . . believe if comes in 2" thickness too.
Regards,
