Partly out of curiosity, I have just taken off the distributor caps from my 993..The car has 56k miles....I have to say they are much worse than the pictures shown on the excellent P-car website.I have severe pitting and decay on the rotor arm face.
I have the service details for this car and as far as i can work out they have never been changed..Obviously this will be suitably remedied soon, but is there a service interval for these parts?
I searched the forums for existing threads, but has any one noticed a big improvement with changing the caps & rotor arms? I am hoping for less arching at 6000+ rpm...cheers.

My old C4 with about 65000 miles suddenly started running very poorly and setting fault codes in the DME for the Hall sensor. Turned out to be carbon tracking in one of the distributor caps.
