In 1973 I bought a brand new 911T in a color called "Lilac". It was remarkably similar to this color. I will try to find and post pix.
I picked the car up at the dealership and drove it directly to the Porsche paddock at Laguna Seca for the race featuring Mark Donohue in the famous 917-30. (He lapped the field including Follmer in the other 917)
My PCA pals shunned my choice of colors and questioned various of my creds jokingly until "Grape T" grew on them. Nowadays odd colors, even pink and purple, are far more fashionable.

Hey Steve, thanks a lot for being the evil facilitator.
Fortunately I'm not really looking for a car with rear wheel steering.........
MUCH cheaper to wrap one of my existing cars.
That's how I am justifying not doing something financially irresponsible.
Cheers

That one is Paint to sample Lilac. Amaranth is probably a little closer to Ultraviolet.

How weird! I was a serious social outcast when I arrived at the PCA parking paddock in 73 for the Donohue race at Laguna Seca in my brand new 100 mile 73 Lilac 911T. It was the only 73 left in dealer inventory in Ca and deeply discounted because nobody would buy it. Things have changed a bit. I'm gonna try to track down a pic.
