.....and optimum pressures will vary from tire to tire brand. When I ran MPSC's at the track-what seems like eons ago-they were extremely sensitive to pressures getting above high 30's after a session-I started them extremely low and monitored through the day like a fiend. Other R compound, or street tire brands never seemed to me to be so sensitive.
