Question Headlamp Bulb Clips

does anyone know of a supplier of the little wire spring clips that hold the front headlamp bulbs in place? mine are loose (and twisted) and i want to replace them without having to buy the entire lamp assembly.

thanks

S2,

Man, you got me swinging. The PET does not show a blow-up of the headlight bucket assemblies parts. I wanted the serrated gaskets that go around the bucket where it contacts the fender and my dealer's parts guy could not ID them.

I know the clips you're talking about. They are pretty delicate and easy to bend - you may try one of the dismantler that are mentioned here or that advertise in Panorama. Maybe they have a 993 crunched in the front with headlight buckets no good to sell as an assembly.

Good luck. And if you are able to find someone that can ID these parts individually, let me know.

There's an upgrade kit for these. Part # 000-043-204-28 Spring clip kit $3.55 each from Suncoast.

i just got the upgrade kit last week. Much much better!

I highly recommend it.

I believe it is also your only choice as the original clips come with the headlight.

Cheers,
Boris

Were my clips "seat" in the cast housing, the bottom nub is twisted a bit causing the clip to want to spin out and not hold. Is this common? Maybe due to heat and pressure causing the metal to twist.

Is the part # Rick gave us for the new wire clips, correct?

Thanks

yes - very common and usually is a heat problem. i don't know the part # but it works very well. essentially it is a new housing that fits over the old one and a new clip.

Boris,

Rick gave this info: Part # 000-043-204-28 Spring clip kit $3.55 each from Suncoast.

Is this what you purchased? Rick says Spring kit and you say it's a new housing. I am guessing there is two part #'s were dealing with.

How much did you part cost and where did you get it. This sounds like what I need.

I got mine from the dealer. I think the nub has to come off for the new clip to fit over the housing properly.

Default Upgrade install

I, too, got a new set of clips and upgrades as my front bulbs kept on coming loose every time I hit a pot-hole. Can anyone post or send a photo of how these new clips are to be installed? I battled for a while, then gave up and manufactured my own out of a coat-hanger in despair..
Many thanks,
