Default carbon fiber question

I was wondering if anyone has used aftermarket carbon fiber parts in their
cars like the ones you would see on ebay and www.exoticwoodtrim.com
I know the would not be as good quality as oem parts but for the price how much worse are they.
Has anyone used them, do they peel off, how do they look
I would like to do up my interior a bit but factory parts are ridiculous price

totally agree ......the prices are ridiculous. i just bought the door panels for 400 a peice. yikes. and then to top it off pelican parts sent me two right sided panels. apparently the left ones aren't being made any more.

i would like to hear someone's feedback on this kit - i too have thought about it. The only problem i have with these kits is that they are adhesive based. They don't actually replace the panel. At the end of the day I don't like the idea of glue on the factory pieces. They are likely not to hold up to well in sun...

The PO of my 993 installed such a kit. See the pics at my link below. I think it looks good and I've gotten compliments. My only complaint is that there's a very thick clear finish on the carbon fiber. I'd prefer little to no clearcoat, and maybe some mfrs make such parts. You'll definitely want carbon fiber shift **** and hand brake lever, and I think you might have to go with genuine Porsche parts for that.
