Default where does your rear emergency release run?

My car doesn't have an emergency rear hood release. I see where it attaches to the latch, but can't figure out where it runs. I thought it went to behind the left rear turn indicator, but there's no hole to get it there that I can see. Anyone know? Thanks,

The cable should end in a pull loop inside the L rear fender, accessible by removing the fender liner.

I thought the installation of the engine lid emergency release started in late MY '96 or MY '97. All 993s have an emergency trunk release cable which ends in a loop inside the L front fender (remove that fender liner).

Thanks Dan.

I have a 96, so I guess that's why it isn't there. It seems like if the cable broke, it was going to be difficult to open the engine cover without that emergency release.

Greg
I too have a '96, lack the emergency release for the engine lid & have wondered about the same thing. I considered installing one, but have never gotten around to it.
