Default To Wax/polish stone guards?

I just replaced the stone guards on my 95 coupe. I've already gotten a couple of marks on the stone guards. Guess they are doing their stuff. Is it safe to polish/wax these clear factory shields? Will they scratch? Whats the proper care of these to keep looking new? Thanks.

You can try Novus which is probably the best plastic polisher available(aggressive but safe) but why bother? As you note they are there to take the hits.

Keith,

It's fine to wax the Stonegard with whatever product you like. The plastic cleaners like Novus will remove most of the scratches and swirls that appear on the surface and stand out, especially on a dark car. Chips you have to live with and just change the pieces once in a while for cosmetic reasons.

Where is a good place (besides OEM) to buy replacement stone guards for a wide body?

Try Xpel.com and Invincashield for replacement, non-OEM guards.
