What a great pair! The golf R is a beast and the C4S of course is pure class!
Love these german cousins!

I like it! I just picked up a 996 for a daily driver, but may flip it at the end of summer. The R32 had been on my list, I don't know much about the newer models...is the R Higher performance than the GTI?

Yes, it is

Wish we had Reflex silver in the US, super rare. OP, did you switch just to change up exterior color or other options/trans too?

Yeah basically just the color, but the bonus was that it also had the Pretoria wheels. I really liked the blue but as a 43 year old I kind of felt too old to be driving a bright blue hatchback.

Ahh thanks. Pretorias are awesome, favorite OEM VW wheel of all time.

Long Beach is probably my second fave OEM wheel

The Cadiz that we get are just terrible, hard to believe VW would put those on a $40K car. Pathetic, really.

Do you have DCC? If so what do you think of it? And DSG or MT?

All Canadian cars have DCC. It works really well. You can certainly tell the difference between comfort and race. Race firms things up nicely! My car is a manual. DSG works really well on the car however I'm a die hard manual guy so while I'm still able to choose, I will always go manual!

Thanks for the info! I have a DSG Mk5 GTI now but will go MT next time around.

Do you have any photos of the two cars side by side from the front?
