I received my insurance bill today. Six months cost $512.28. I have $1000 deductible, $100,000/$300,000. 7500 miles or less annually.
My 993 is cheaper to insure then my 2000 full size Dodge van. I get about one ticket every three years. I'm 43 years old. The van is my daily driver and it runs me about $625 every six months. Both with State Farm.

I think this question has been run to death many times already? Maybe take a look? I think it also popped up in the Drivers Ed forum?
I'll take my opportunity to re-state my ABSOLUTE HATE for State Farm and their Auto Claims practices!! They are NOT a good neighbor.

That seems pretty high Neil..
I just switched to AAA. 500,000/1,000,000 liability, 100K uninsured motorist, 300K property damage costs me about $1163/year. I'm 28, so your insurance cost should be much, much lower.
I'm in the process of switching my homeowners, so when that kicks in, I'll get an additional 20% discount.

With one ticket and an accident claim I pay $1200 a year, be around $950 had I not had the claim before I bought the car.
One thing about insurance rates, they are variable dependent on were you live. I live rural outside of Seattle and know that my rates are going to go up when we move to Las Vegas this year as they have the second highest rates in the US. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

But anyways, this is my "weekend" car, < 6K miles/year. I have another commuter car that gets all the miles, door dings, scratches, etc.
