I REALLY hope that was not paid for with church money. If so, there's something SERIOUSLY wrong here. I'm I the only one whose jaw dropped when I read that??

And what part of it is decal? I assume the paint is blended, blue/white/yellow and the decals are just the Porsche crests.

Eric,

The whole car is wraped on this vinyl sticker. The owner said they designed it on a computer, looked at it in 3D, and then print it on huge vinyl sheets. I didn't notice the seams 'til I got real close.

The owner owns Porsche dealerships, so I would thinkhe could afford more of those. I just wished he'd give me one

From what I heard at VIR, and it is hearsay as I didn't talk to the owner, the church is not an actual paying sponsor but one of the car owner's other passions. I have to admit, that 996 is an effective way to spread the name, if not the necessarily the gospel.

Thanks Mark, makes me feel better. I guess it couldn't hurt to have some "holiness" around, as we're always missing out with these sunday events. Unless you're at LIme Rock

Mitch,

With names like Falwell, Baker and any number of other charlatans sullying the true intent of "the" church, it's no wonder people are suspicious of wealth gathered from religious pursuits.

Regarding Lime Rock, I just saw an excellent DVD on Lime Rock and learned that there are no events on Sunday.

I'm glad I live near Summit Point.

Mark, you have to get up to Lime Rock. Its a little, twisty course with a great downhill turn. However, its also set in a great place. Stay at the Interlaken Hotel and enjoy some of the quaint New England surroundings. Nothing like the views Summit Point has to offer! ...although I was happy to see they're working on the new circuit at Summit when I was there in Sept.

Mitch,

Someone just told me that they are going to start paving Shenandoah in the next few days. I hope the track is cured and ready by next season. There were too many club cancellations due to the slow progress.

The Lime Rock video was informative and well produced. It sure seems like a short course but, from what I gathered, it's a challenging, high speed track. Maybe I'll get there next season. Thanks for the accommodation tips!
