And at a very good price...$34900. One owner car since new...now the guy is too old to drive. Before he turned the car loose (now this is love) he had a couple of oil leaks so he took it to the dealer who has serviced it all its life and told them to fix everything. The owner didn't blink at the $17k bill. The engine had been taken out and all new seals and gaskets plus a bunch of other stuff was done.
I didn't buy it for one reason...the color. I knew what Adventuriine Green looked like in pictures but it has been years since I saw it in the flesh. So I drove two hours (each way) to see the car in person. I would just not be happy with that color...ever. But I checked everything...every switch, light, function...everything...and this car only needs one thing...a front wheel balance.
I have no interest in the car except as an enthusiast who feels this car really needs a buyer who's going to love it as much as the original owner did.
The sales guy I talked to at the small indie dealer is named Ed.
Mechanically sound, affordable 993's are hard to come by. If it checked all the other boxes, you can change the color with a well-executed vinyl wrap.
Make it Riviera Blue for a fraction of the difficulty and cost of getting a genuinely painted one.
A wrap wouldn't do it for me, but thanks. If I thought prices were going to continue to go up I might have tried to convince myself I could live with the color...but I really don't like the color and I think this car is a strong car at a fair price...and that others at this price will be more frequent than less.
Having seen an Avertine Green 993 targa in person, I loved the color from first glance. It shifts so much in the sunlight. It is a very classy and imho classic color with the right interior to complement it.
"It shifts so much in the sunlight."
^^^ This .
I have this colour ( with black interior)- would not have been my first choice, but it grows on you.
Cheers
It does play with light in a special way but it is just not my favorite color...just an opinion. The tip didn't disappoint me...not as nice as the later five speed version but it does have a feature I would like on mine...the ability to set it in a specific gear in the auto mode and not run beyond that...no point using 4th around town. As for a 115k on the miles...so what! Porsches turn those miles every day of the week. The car has been well cared for and deserves a good home from an enthusiast. That is the whole point of the thread and why I posted it here. If someone out there feels the price is too low, over the seller more. But if you haven't seen and driven the car, don't **** on it just because the seller isn't asking $90k for it.
