I don't think so. You can loosen up the tips with two box wrenches and adjust them somewhat if you like

the tips look evenly spaced. not a good indicator of motor mount condition. there is adjustment in the mounting of the muffler tips - those look set to that position. are your mounts leaking? a number of folks have changed their mounts just because of the age and been pleased with the results.

Put your floor jack under your motor and jack the car, taking note if the tips move before the car body. This would indicate the MM are shot.

If everything moves together, you can adjust your tips more to your liking if you're unhappy with the gap.

I believe the bottom of the muffler tip should follow the bottom edge of the bumper.

They look correct to me. If you change to large ovals it should take up all the space you are seeing. Here are my original tips and wide ovals.

I changed engine mounts (to Rennline) when I noticed a relative change (comparing port to starboard) in the position of the exhaust tips. One side dropped about a cm. Was my decision to change & I provided the parts - shop told me after doing the work that the droopy side had a minor leak. 170tkm on original mounts. Happy with result.
Cheers - David

Just looking for ran excuse to reply my motor mounts, I guess. Sounds like mine are fine though. No leaks that I can see.

Will try jacking up at the engine this week. Is there a particular spot to put the jack under?

Thanks everyone.

Add a block of wood to your jack and lift where the case halves come together.

Those are nice looking tips, but I believe those are actually the tips from FVD Brombacher http://www.fvd.net/index.php?VID=256...em=FVD11199300. The OEM wide ovals http://www.carnewal.com/products/P93...ust-Tips-C2-C4 are about twice as expensive, but I think you'll find they fill that space even better than the FVD's.
