Post My 993 celebrated her 50k miles birthday last night

I have owned my 993 since 6000 miles, last night while driving home from work she reached her 50k miles mark.

By far this car is the most gratifying, fun, reliable, and scary car I have ever owned.

Thank you Dr. Porsche

So along w. all the new legislation banning talking on a cell phone while driving, I see we're going to have to add a new one,

"No taking photos of your odometer w. a digital camera while driving along at 20 mph!"

Robin,

I'm only into my 3rd month of owning a 993 but I can't agree more with you on this Robin.

Also, thank you for hanging out on the board Robin. You are one of the most knowledgable and helpful people here

So... will a 993TT be next for you, my friend?

Cheers,

Pin,

Thank you. I am very glad to have the opportunity to serve this community.

One thing for sure is that my next 993 is still going to be another 993.

I am very convinced that the 993 is definitely a "keeper" among the 911s, and never again will another car manufacturer produce another car that's equal to the 993's mechanical beauty.

Hopefully, a C4S or a TT as a future car.

Thanks

When you told me that (via email) my first reaction was "Why is he getting an Audi???" I forgot that the TT meant something else entirely.

Robin, How many of those 50,000 miles were at three digits on that speedometer? I just past 60k on my 993 and couldn't be happier. That said I am starting to think about that 3.6 turbo............... Mike W

Mike,

You are a funny guy, but you also know me well.

All I can tell you is that I went over the 3 digit mark 3 times today already.

Twice at 5:30am this morning going to my Bible study and once coming back after having lunch with Jean Marc.

I went over the 3 digital mark after lunch because I thought it would help my blood vessels clear up some of the clots by making my heart beat a little faster after all that greasy yucky Chinese food.

Robin,

What happened to the paint around your gauges? Looks worn off...

Alan,

I am not sure what that white stuff is on the rubber rings. They were on there since day one. And they are on all the gauge's rubber rings. I was thinking that it is some sort of glue or oil residue from the German technican's dirty hands when he installed the gauges at the factory. (Maybe he just had a greasy Chinese lunch like I had today!)

Hey, but since you have twice the mileage, shouldn't you also be photographing the gauges at twice the speed?
