Factory suspension adjustable?
I have what I believe to be the stock factory shocks with RoW M030 springs. I noticed that the front stock shocks have about 2" of thread and a spinning collar (similar to a coil-over kit). The collar sits at ~ the midpoint of the threads. My shocks are green. I think I read somewhere that the threads are meant to "balance" the car and not to lower it. That being said, would there be any problems with adjusting the collar to its lowest position? If so, what tool would I use to do this?
Front strut housings are adjustable; rears aren't. Why you want to drop the front and leave the rear alone is beyond me (make it look like a '60's hot rod?). Do it and you'll totally screw up the handling.
Balance the front and rear by setting the ride height to the ROW settings. You want to drop it further, do it properly F&R with matching springs.
Oh, yeah - if you do ANY monkeying of ride heights then make sure you have a 4-wheel alignment done. 911s are very sensitive to this.
