Default remove rear seat screw

I am about to replace my carpeting. I have removed everything but when I got to the folding rear seats there is one screw that holds each seat from being removed, neither will come out. The rear seats must be removed to replace the carpet. I have tried everything including a hand impact driver with no luck. I tried heating but the seat bracket is made of plastic so it started to melt when I heated.
Running out of options.

Any suggestions on how to remove these screws

This thread may prove helpful. The screw is a bear to remove, but it will turn eventually. https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...oval-help.html

You need this. I ran into the same issue a few weeks ago. Buy a drag link socket from Amazon. You will need to grind the tool down a bit to make it fit. 5 minutes. Done.

Yes, those screws are very tight and difficult to remove. Experienced this with my previous 964 and also on the 993. What I've found to work well is a large screwdriver with vise grips for added rotational force. May also need a few good raps with a hammer but they will come loose.

Similarly, I used a screwdriver socket from Craftsman (sears.com search for slotted bit socket). No grinding required. Mine came with a tool set, so I'm not sure what size, but similar to:

Hi from the UK

I just removed mine very quickly and easily with an Impact Screwdriver.

They come with nice large screwdriver bits and the impact twist they generate can undo most stubborn screws.
