Skip renovations and private school.
I'd sell 964 as I like 993 better (personal taste) and if your red one is worth more that '98 WB, it's really a no brainer to me. But it's really a personal decision that YOU should make without reading silly posts.
EDIT: didn't realize that 964 is turbo. I would still probably pick 993 for driving. If for collecting, maybe 964 is better. Really personal decision.

Sell the 993 and keep the 964. The 993 is probably a lot more "flawed" than the 964, meaning that the 964 is much harder to find.
Who did the tip to manual swap? Chris Cervelli?

Unless the value of the Turbo has totally ruined your enjoyment of it. In that case, cash in on the Turbo and go for a celebratory romp in the worthless 993

993 will be harder to sell based on its past. The "collector" types won't touch it. Those looking for a "driver" have a low budget in mind. If you need to unload one of the cars faster it would be the red one.

Sell the 993. Down the road it will be easier to replace when you regret selling it. Plus if you sold the turbo it'll cost you more to replace it the future due to appreciation. Even if you drove the turbo more you'll still have a better investment than the 993.

Can I borrow your chrystal ball? If this was true, you should borrow against both cars (preferably on negative amortization basis) to fund whatever you need to fund.

Well it certainly has been true the last 5 years. As for the future? It's cooling off but I'm sure it'll pick back up down the road. If he asked this question any time in the last 5 years then your idea of borrowing to fund the project would have been the best decision. While my opinion does not come with a guarantee I'd venture to say the majority of Rennlisters would agree that a 964T is a better investment than a 993S. Having said that I just picked up a 98 C2S in glacia white and love it! But I'd sell it before I'd sell my 964T
