Default BBS LM Pricing

I currently have MY02's on my NB 993 and really like them, but have been looking for years for a set of used LM's. I have the opportunity to buy a set new in box for $3500. Was really hoping to find something on the used market for less. What are opinions on the LM's and the price? They have been my favorite 993 wheel for a long time, but trying to justify. Any ideas what they are worth used if I decide I don't end up liking them? Thanks

At best you'd find them used for 2500. I'd pull the trigger if you like them.

What are the specs of the wheels your looking at? I would imagine for a NB those wheels are NLA and since they are also NIB that is a very good deal.

My new WB LM's were just under $4 grand...then I refinished them

If you're a function first kinda person, you'd come to the understanding that your current MY02's are significantly lighter than the LM's.

If you're a fluff first kinda person, I believe the LM's are some of the most beautiful wheels!

$3500 is also a set of new PSS10's, and M030 anti-sways installed, aligned, and corner balanced, with pocket money to boot. Decisions, decision...

The wheels I have available are 8.5 and 10 x 18's. Trust me, I like and know the benefits of the MY02's and do not plan on selling them. I have just always loved the look of LM's on 993's and want to try a set. The car is strictly a street driver with no DE's in the future at least for me. I just did Bilstein sports and M030's last fall and am very happy with my decision for my use. I will probably try them as I have wanted them and are available now. If I don't love them on the car, they will be available!

Thank you for all of the replies!

Guaranteed you will like them and won't even be thinking about selling once they are on!

That's also a good price for brand new, I hear there is a shortage of supply, some waiting months. At one point for WB specs some were paying used for that price.

Here's a chart I found long ago with some comparative weights. Looks like the LM is on average about 1 lb heavier. For street use you won't see any difference.

The LM is still readily available - Tire Rack has them for $3,800 a set of 4. I recently got a set of WB RS-GT for $3,490 from Tire Rack, but they were special order.

It seems like just about anything Porsche just keeps going up in value. I paid $900 for a set of Hollows that are now trading around $3,000. The closer we get to "unavailable" on things like LMs I have a feeling you won't get hurt.

Check your PM - didn't realize we were in the same town!

^Agreed, especially if tax is included or not added to that price.

Current lead time on new BBS is 90 days (as of 2 weeks ago). I am in the same boat and some day will order a set of LM but I am not looking forward to cleaning them thats for sure. There is something to be said for the simplicity of a 5 spoke on a 911!

LM's are probably my favourite wheel of all time. Knight's are perfect.

That is a good price but I would talk to Eric at Supreme Power before making a final decision... You will love the wheels...

I agree with this ^^. Your car with MY02's, ducktail and in white is simply stunning. Perfect, I think. But I also think if you want LM's, go for it (seems like a great price).

Cheers.
