I don't see myself spending $9,200 on wheels so what else is available?

OP asked for price on HRE wheels in their thread. Assuming the PM sent to him was in the neighborhood of the $9200.

I would also swallow hard on that sum.

How about going the simple route and go with MY02's. Simple, clean, light, great looking, and affordable.

you are used to wearing a timex then go into a jewelry shop ask for price on a piaget, then say to everybody, what do 'normal people' buy for a practical time piece??... well, wtf - you went into a high end jewelry shop and asked?!?!?!? no one needs a piaget to tell time... get real...

Even pristine NB Hollow Spoke twists are about $3,000 plus tires.

An RL member was recently selling some Tramonts for roughly $3,000 as well.

$9,200 for HRE wheels? Whoa.

I can sympathize with the OP. As a working guy in my 40's with three kids and a mortgage I'm not poor but I have been dismayed at the cost of a nice pair of wheels for my 993. I don't like the twists that came on it but have kept them simply because of the cost of decent replacements. Most approach or exceed 10% of the total value of the car and that's just excessive unless you've got money to burn.
I assumed the figure of $9200 was just hyperbole to make a point.

Another request for clarification regarding the OP. It was pretty painful for me to buy real RUF 18"ers a couple of years back but I never felt the need to complain. I really didn't think they were THAT much better looking than the OE 18" Turbo Twists but I knew to me they were worth it. BTW, I could easily make money on them now, Good Luck.

Quick Reply: I don't see myself spending $9,200 on wheels so what else is available?
