Rothsport, Ruf or Porsche RS short shifter?
As the title suggests, looking for a short shifter so I can raise the height of the gear **** a couple of inches, the only thing that puts me off the Rothsport one is that it's aluminium and will be cold on the hand like my current after market shifter so I like the idea of the other 2 that you can fit whatever gear **** you want.
Suggestions and experience all welcome. Cheers guys.

I went from factory RS shifter & RS shift rod (like golden rod) to CAE and just took my first drive today.
Outstanding. Adjustable spring loading, adjustable gate stops, reverse lock out, precise gates, short throw and having the **** up high very nice.
I'm glad I did this and would recommend. Phone pic taken during installation. I am modifying console and have it reupholstered to integrate shifter.

So, since I completely dismantled car, repainted, reupholstered, redid engine, gearbox, suspension, etc. when the odo was fixed I had it turned back to zero.
Car has been on road since last August.

Is that legal ? Is the title "remanufactured" ?

I dunno if legal or not. No plans to sell the car and after over 50 years being an enthusiast with Porsche, this is probably my last one then it's on to my son.
If I did sell I would give it full disclosure and the first odo readings are documented well - although mileage really unknown since it was not documented when odo stopped in the first place.
It is essentially totally remanufactured as you ask though. Everything is new from from the brake calipers to the seats. Sorta like a Singer.

Another vote for the CAE shifter here. The difference from stock was amazing, like night and day. I hated the stock shifter, felt vague and sloppy. Now it feels totally direct with ZERO slop--almost as good as a Miata shifter. The ergonomics are greatly improved over OEM as well. It's a pricey option compared to the golden rod route, but I'm very happy with the result.
