About $650/year with Progressive. Two drivers drivers, limited use miles. $1000 deduc. on collision/$1,000 on comprehensive, $500K liability. Somewhat deceptive as this is linked to multi-car and AAA discounts, used as pleasure vehicle - meaning it is not driven for business.

About $1,000 per year, for a daily driver with no restrictions and $1,000 deductible.

About $1000/year for a street car. Race car about the same since it is streetable I insure it as a street car. For races I was able to get coverage, about $400/day with a 10% deductble and a stated value. This coverage isn't available any longer and I am looking for another source.

Well, in my mind I'm only 13, but my driver's license says I'm much older. Currently, there's one ticket from a few years ago on my record.

But a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Actually, when I first got this car in '98, the premium was $5,200/year.

I thought I had a good deal but after seeing everyone's fee, I feel like I'm paying way too much. $1600/year (3 cars discount) from Mercury Insurance.

Of course, I don't envy DJ.

Peace!

Ron,

I notice you're in SoCal and I'm paying about the same: $1600/yr, $250/$350 deduct., 250K/500K liab. ... and this is as a daily driver, 2-vehicle policy. It's just cheaper in most other areas.

Well, well!

You should all count yourself lucky, as in the UK insurance is a rip-off.

In my previous car which I kept for 2yrs, my premium started at £3,500 = $5,000 and that was with 6 years no claims bonus. That was the cheapest insurance! Most places just would not touch the car, as when I got mine it was one of handful delivered in the UK back in 1998.

Today in my 996 C2 Cab I am paying £1695 = $2,400 with a £750 = $1,100 excess or deductible charge! I have yet to do significant upgrades on the car. For each upgrade I must first seek prior confirmation that the insurer would still insure the car or I must move on.

It is criminal really as I have not made a claim in 9 years!

Don't get me on insurance costs, it is truly a sour subject and unfortunately by law we must have it. Sounds like most are printing money - literally.

drive safely - as they never give you back the cars true worth in any case!

Question

Is there not any P-car owning insurance agents
in this club? Perhaps there is lots of business to be gained by a little competitive pricing. Let's hear from any agents that could share contacts and info.

I am an insurance agent and I'm in a ultra preferred tier of Progressive with no ticc/acc and I pay $1700. per year with $1,000. deductible and 250,000/500,000 liability . I represent many different companies and this is the best rate available in my area (NYC suburb) for me.

Pookee,

I'm also from Bergen County. Currently I use
New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company. My rates for the 1995 993 is about $1K/year with a high ($1K) deductible on collision. This is very cheap considering it is NJ. NJM is excellent. In addition to great rates, they include Driver Ed coverage in the policy at no extra cost, and they pay out a 10-15% divedend per year. Factoring in this I pay about $900.

Where in Bergen are you (Me - Mahwah)?

Red face

I live in Southern Ohio (small town) 36 yo married with home discount, four cars and no claims/tickets for years. Through State Auto, my premium is $1186 per year with $1000 collision/$500 comp deductble on $300,000 single limits coverage. A couple months ago, I shopped around and couldn't do much better (when I got a response from the agents). My agent checked on DE coverage and indicated it is covered as long as it is not a competitive event. That's one reason I am staying where I am at. The other is, I don't like the mileage restrictions some of the companies wanted to place on the vehicle to insure it.
