Question Help Me Price This 95' 993 With Previous Accident Damage

I need some help determining the fair market value of a 95' 993 that was repaired after a right rear quarter accident. The car is as follows:

95' Porsche 993 63k Miles, Polar Silver With Black Partial Leather Interior, 4 Owners, Fully Documented Service History From New Including Window Sticker. Options and extras are: Factory CD Changer, HiFI Sound, Limited Slip Differential With ABD, Rear Wiper, Full Power Seat Left, Motor Sound Airbox With BMC Filter, RSR Muffler With Chrome Motor Sound Tips, 18" Chrome Twist Wheels With New SO2's, Powder Coated Red Brake Calipers
Aerokit 1 Front Splitters (MA Shaw).

The car does not have a salvage title and I knew it prior to the accident. All the repairs have been completed to a high standard with OEM parts by a shop that I'm very familair with.

The car was hit in the right rear quarter panel and passenger door. There was very minor damage to the frame in the area of the top shock mount and the suspension. The car was repaired on a chassis jig and the following parts were replaced:
Right Rear Quarter Panel, Passinger Door Repaired, Rear Bumnper Cover & Rear Lights Replaced, Suspension A Arms Replaced, Right Rear Wheel Replaced Etc...

The cost of the repairs were $12k I've seen all the receipts. The right side of the car was repainted all the panel gaps are as original. The car drives 100% straight and in my opinion only the most expert bodyshop eye could tell the car had been repaired.

The car is located in the midwest.

TIA for your input,

JF 97' 993 Coupe RS Look!

This is a tough one.

Its the right color, has the right options, fair mileage, clear title, good receipts...

But buyers just have so many choices these days. Most can just move on to the "next one" (with no paint work etc.).

I know the car can be repaired to exacting "as new" standards, but it is a strike to most others. Because of that, I would assume a mid $30's asking price would be a fair place to start.

When a car goes in for body repair I tell all my pals to ask their insurance company for "diminished value" as well as the repair cost. What I mean by that is "get a check for what you will NOT GET out of the car (because of the body work) when you sell." That amount varies, but most of the time it reflects 10 - 15%.

I have to agree with Mike B. it is a buyers market so why bother with potential headaches. So, spend the extra and keep on looking.

Also, i know and bet the car look great but telling you not worth it.

Take your time and let the perfect ride come to you.

Good luck

I would think it is worth in the mid 20's at most. Generally I am a strong believer in the 993 holding strong values. However, I think most people (myself included) would not touch this car. I would think a $10-15 thou. discount is in order. So I guess you should look for a clean '95, with similiar miles/options and discount this one accordingly. For my money, I would not touch it as others have advised. Good luck. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />

I would estimate around $28-30K, but only because you know the car and are comfortable with the repair quality.

Car would seem to be worth $33-35K with no paintwork. DV for a P-car (diminished value) is 15-20%. I would use the 15% b/c the car is older.

While I agree that this is a buyers market, 1995s are now 7+ years old--it's time to lessen the stigma/penalty of being driven. You won't find many 70K mile 993s (or any car) that have not had some paint work, let's be realistic. Those with low miles/perfect condition (like Rich-95 993!) deserve a $8-15K premium--thus the wide range quoted in Excellence market reports.

A plus--this damage was fully disclosed, and the repair (by your standards) was first rate. A negative--it had frame and suspension damage. Many cars with paint work have merely had fender benders.

Your call. Keep resale and potentially increased repair bills in mind.
