Not that it matters, but if you were going to bash someones asking price for a car which was out of their hands to begin with... you'd want to start with the right math. I belive this car had Bilstein PSS9 suspension with RS sway bars, and mounts, I would say bushings also had to be refreshed when they did all the suspension upgrades, you would have to add at least $5-$7K to the mods list...
I saw the car, and looked great as all of Rudy's , I have nothing but good things to say about him and how he treats and cares for his cars.

The fact is, Rudy is a wonderful asset to the Porsche community. Another fact is this car is a 130K mile NB 993 asking $63K that just failed a PPI and is still for sale.
One may not like the facts, but blame the facts, not the messenger.
As I said, Rudy doesn't even own this car anymore, so take Rudy out of the equation. Would you recommend to a close friend to pay $60K+ for any 130K mile NB 993 that failed a PPI?

True. The guy says he "nearly bought the car but passed after a PPI". If the car is a great car at a fair price, would someone keenly interested who nearly bought the car drop the ball over something found in the PPI that was minor?

Pure speculation, but I'm assuming the dealer refused to address the issues raised during the PPI. If I was paying top dollar (which I think a car with this mileage exceeds, even in this crazy market) then my expectations would be equally raised. Hopefully the truth behind the failed PPI will surface.

This is a car that would had to have these mods to make up for the high miles in order to even list 3 years ago at $30K. Fact is a car with this mileage will have worn parts. The move for any car enthusiast is to upgrade OEM worn parts. Unfortunately, these upgraded parts bring very little in resale value and are seen as replacing consumables.

Beauty and value are in the eye of the beholder. For a collector sure, anything non-OEM about a car is valueless or even degrades the resale value, but for the actual drivers out there, any aftermarket modifications that are done with taste and the intention if improving the driving experience of the car will have value.
I'm not talking fugly Strosek bodykits here. I'm taking PSS9 over worn stoke Monroes and other upgrades that bring the car to a more RS capability. In the end to each there own.
I'm just shocked and skeptical that this dealer seems to think $62k for a (mostly) sorted/modified driver NB 993 with 130k miles is reasonable. Has the market gotten so nuts that even the driver cars are valued this highly? Part of me secretly wishes so, while part of my is frightened and saddened by this prospect. Either way it is perhaps near time for a fresh appraisal on my 993 for purely insurance coverage purposes...

Gentleman,
I didn't say it failed a PPI, I said I passed after the PPI.
Current condition & things needing attention didn't justify the price, IMO.
If someone is seriously interested in the car, PM for details.

why don't you post what you found out and save us time here. It is not like you are selling the car anyways, it will do a great service.

If one gets a PPI on a car, and then after getting the results passes on the car, the the PPI is a fail. The car obviously needed work, and the buyer/seller couldn't come to terms. Not a good sign, either way. Either the car needs a fair amount of work, or the seller is living in fantasyland. Or both.
Meanwhile, it's still for sale. Imagine that

I also helped my brother buy a C2 with 67K for $32K miles 2.5 years ago when I saw the beginnings of the value pop. People were asking $35-$38K for similar cars.
Point is this car is not a $50K+ car or it would be sold. A similar 964 C2 was sold in the high 40s here and mid to high 40s is where this car will probably move.
