I do not know the year....here is what Hagerty has for a 1996 Cab.

https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuati...rrera?id=61791

It's not a #1 with the mods, one could also argue that because it has been resprayed it's not #1 given are enough pristine models still available.

Given the mileage and mods you are are likely #3 so piranha's numbers seem close.

Oh wow, interesting info. I think at this point I'll just keep the car because I really do love the car, and can't see being bent over because my car doesn't fit a particular value model.

Put it back to stock and you might get close to $40K. But it has to be the right buyer.

I find the Haggerty valuations quite optimistic.

As a cab owner who took a similar slide, my $0.02 is If you can afford to and will have space to store it for 6 months, then keep it. Another view is to treat it like you (and I) feel - namely it is a new car irrespective of others views. In this case treat it like you just bought a new air cooled car for year round use in Croatia, get year-round tires, clear the front bumper and hood and drive it year-round. If you're going to take a hit someday, at least enjoy it to it's fullest. So it gets scarred a bit. You can still keep it clean. GL!

Making comments about personal messages don't make your value go up.

FWIW, the RL 993 Forum tends to be biased towards Coupes, when it comes to valuations. And then add-in the fact that a lot of us aren't big fans of spoilers on Cabs either.

All-in-all, IMO, it's a very nice 993 and $40,000 for well-loved but repainted and rebuilt Cab would seem to me to be a "fire sale" price. I would NEVER sell it for $40,000.

I don't understand the antipathy towards cabs and targas in the US; maybe something to do with the popularity of NASCAR over open wheel racing. I suspect you'll have a lot of fun with your cab buzzing around Dubrovnik and Split and the rest of continental Europe.

Keep it - lots of fantastic roads in Europe to drive round - road trips to Spa and Monza (maybe) in the summer to watch F1 etc etc. I bought my 993 whilst an expat in Dubai, spent some money on it then moved to Singapore - couldn't take it with me and didn't want to part with it so exported it back to the UK where it sits in storage waiting for my return and fantastic long trips down through Europe to the French Alps and beyond with the roof open (Targa!).

I agree with ilko. I was being nice saying $35-40k earlier. I would be surprised if this car could bring $40k in its current state. Aftermarket parts bring down values, they don't increase them. Those wheels are polarizing. I would guess 90% of buyers would be turned off by them. A spoiler on a cab is not desirable to many. I am assuming the RS body kit is aftermarket, that will turn off more buyers. Best to keep it if you are happy with it. If you do decide you want to sell it you will get more money returning it to as close to stock as possible.

Aren't those BBS LM's? If so, aren't they considered highly desirable and worth around $3,000/set? Seriously, I'm confused.

You're right, the BBS's are ugly.
