Post Performance improvements

Would like to develop a "wish list" of items for my C2. Please keep in mind that this is not a race car, but a fun / weekend car...
So far, I have thought of Strut Bar, Coils,
Stage 1 Chip, PowerFlo Filter
Any thoughts, should I just leave well enough alone or will I start an endless visit to mechanic ?

Best single performance improvement?

A good driver's school.

Porsche Driving Experience. Skip Barber Racing School or Driver's Course. Russell. Bondurant. Etc.

Every time I've attended one it's improved the performance of my cars.

As to hardware, you're already thinkng along good lines. You might try an archive search. I believe this is discussed regularly.

Jim:

I agree with Mike on both counts. You will be amazed by what you can do with a Porsche after a driving school. If you are advanced past the driving school stage, then hire a professional driver to work with you on the track for a day. That turns out to be incredibly beneficial.

Figure out what you want to do with your car (it sounds like you already have) and make modifications that advance you along your stated path. Like you, I wanted to modify my street car. I already have a dedicated race car, so I didn’t want to build another. After reading the list and a little research, I realized that I was very drawn to the 993 RS concept – a car you can comfortably drive on the street that exhibits acceptable racetrack competency. To that end, here is my list:

Cosmetic (outside):
RS Front Spoiler
RS Rear Wing
RS Side Skirts
RS Rear Badge
RS Center Caps
RS Speedline Cup Wheels
Big Red Calipers

Cosmetic (interior):
RS Steering Wheel
RS Shifter
RS Door Panels
RS Leather Covered Racing Buckets
RS Rear Seat Delete

Performance:
RS Suspension
RS Doors
RS Aluminum Hood
Transmission Regear
3.8 Motor Upgrade

I have installed several items from this list and have enjoyed this ongoing project immensely. Have fun with your choices and as long as you modify your car with OEM Porsche parts or very high quality aftermarket pieces, you shouldn’t have any reason to visit your mechanic except to install the next modification.
