Mission accomplished :) It's official I'm proud first time owner of a 993
I am beyond words today. A long life dream has come true. In 1993 my family immigrated to US to chase the America Dream and boy am I glad they did, because honestly, I don’t think I would be driving a 993 today.
The first time I got hooked was when I was about 17 years old. Back then as a kid and being German the coolest thing was that had a drivers license before I was even allowed to drive in Germany. I clearly remember when I went to the Porsche dealer here in Louisville Kentucky. I went to look at the new 993 turbo. When I saw the car, I was blown away by the beauty and pure performance figures. I knew I had to have one, and until today I have been chasing that dream.
Today my dream has come true, it’s not a turbo or a wide body, but close enough. ☺ The car is nearly perfect, low miles and in amazing shape. I am smiling from one cheek to the other just knowing that car is sitting in my garage. The worst thing though, it’s snowing and I haven’t really had a chance to drive it. It’s driving me crazy. Regardless, I am so excited that I wanted to share this special moment with all you enthusiast, cause I know some of you know how it feels, plus I am going to need your help. ☺ So it’s a good time to make some friends.
I am sooooo happy to be part of the 993 family and look forward to sharing many experiences and DYI’s. I already fixed my first issue, which was the rear left brake lights and parking lights. It happened to be corroded and I just needed to clean the terminal. I also notice that the rear wing LED brake light and the upper brake light have a few lights out. Hopefully, those aren’t expensive. The biggest issue though is the right front headlight, it looks foggy and seems to have some moisture any recommendation on that would be nice. I am working with the dealer to see what they say. Haven’t heard back from them.
PS: I own a BMW E38 and thanks to Bimmerboard I have kept this car alive for over 10 years of ownership, hope to do the same with the 993.
Also, Special thanks to everyone that has given me purchasing advice and thanks to Michael Wilhoit for providing an amazing car. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my journey and I look forward to making new friend through this forum.

Welcome to the forum and awesome story as well.
I am also a first time Porsche/993 owner and was also a long time BMW owner as I just recently sold my pristine E30 M3.
The car looks amazing by the way. Any plans for it?

Thanks. The E30 M3 started it all. Awesome car. First order of business, fix the rear brake lights, front headlight and update the suspension. I want ROW ride hight. Other than that, I am leaving as is. Might do the HID conversion and some euro clears. But otherwise I want keep her the way she is.

congrats! similar story to me when my Dad worked at the Porsche dealership in the 90's. I remember to this day when the "new" 993 showed up on the lot and I was able to sit in it. Told myself someday I'd own one and actually owning one has been very rewarding
LOVE that color combo, is that Chestnut interior?

Congrats and welcome to the club! Love that color combo. Definitely more special than the C2 from Intersport. The headlamp is an easy fix. Order a new lens from Sunset and replace it yourself. We're here to help you fix and spend mo' money!

Congrats rg0115 - sweet looking ride and the snowflakes during delivery really set the mood...
The headlight probably may just need a remove and clean as described here > http://www.pcarworkshop.com/index.ph...ing_Headlights
For the "snaggle tooth" rear lights, that is a bit more complicated, but not daunting with this advice > http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...b_replace2.htm

Glückwünsche! Nice find, and a leather SW, too. The 3rd brake light fix is pretty straight-forward with a lot of advice on RL and Pelican. I am a clumsy DIYer and I managed to get it done.
