1997 993 ruf tribute should I buy
#32
I'm a huge RUF fan myself and have added a few RUF details to my 993tt. I know not everyone likes it so I kept all original parts for the car if I would ever sell.
If you like it buy it and drive it.

The boxed rockers are reversible only at a staggering cost. They require cutting an 18 inch long hole in the sheet metal under the duct opening. If you buy it, you had better plan to keep it as is.

thanks all I have decided not to buy it. I have got my eye on a "well sorted" 100000 miler. and it will likely be shipped in a couple weeks. Just working out the details.
thanks

Nice 993TT! Your RUF modifications on the outside looks easy to reverse. The cab the dealer is selling is much harder. I was consider that car but with the roll bar, cut fenders/quarters, it looks spendy to get back to stock. If it was a coupe, maybe a RS or GT2 tribute car would be easier to convert?

Yes, Everything is reversible. I even kept the stock suspension after I put bilsteins ps10 on it.
Just turned it into my dream 993tt. Good thing that others like it as well.

As far as I know they still sell them, I bought wheels/pedals/bumpers/carpets/exhaust tips. Wanted 18' wheels but they don't make those anymore, so had to settle for 19'.

I'm not much of a attention seeker. I custom my cars for my own pleasure and have never got a lot of attention driving a Porsche. But, my white 993tt is starting to draw a lot of attention. Drove to West PalM beach yesterday. At least 10 cars drove up next to me and roll down their windows and give it the thumbs up. These old Porsches are really becoming celebrities.

Smart man. That car is an abomination. Not tastefully done, collectibility will be "0". 997RS4.0 shows how to tastefully add RUF details... only reason to buy this car would be if you got it for 20k and reverted it back to stock look.
