Nice car but too boy racer for me. I'm sure the car drives really well however would take my golf R over this thing all day long!

Yea, yea I know...maybe a face only a mother could love, BUT...look at the specs, the technology in this thing. Holy hell....

Went to my local Ford store today, sat in a Focus ST...same body style, exact same interior, same Recaro seats...VERY nice. I don't like complicated controls, cause...well, I'm not real complicated. That being said, it's what makes the 993, and even my Subie appeal to me.

That interior of the Focus ST felt immediately comfortable, seats were fantastic, controls where you would expect them to be. The car has similar proportions to my current DD, a Subie Crosstrek, and a pretty nice forum already active, even though the cars are months away from delivery.

A little pre mature for a DD replacement, but not happy with a few things regarding the Subie. The RS has double the HP, adjustable dampers, and diffs, did I say it has TWICE the HP...and gets better mpg too?

Love the R...but the 4 motion alone, doesn't justify the price delta between that and the GTI.

The Focus RS, on the other hand, is worlds away from the Focus ST. Motor, drivetrain, and suspension...are all radically different, for about the same price split.

Nice!
Friend of mine texted me: "Just drove a new Focus RS. Damnit now I want one." He is a picky chassis engineer so I am reckoning it will be a good one. Can't wait to find out for myself.

Just had a look at an RS in gray as an alternative but the blue looks great.

Make sure you drive an STi before writing a cheque for the Ford.

Where does your friend live...I didn't think there were any in N America yet, besides the show car/press fleet ones...the Focus RS forum has nothing mentioning cars being delivered yet. Ford just started releasing build dates...cars are 3+ months out I'm told.

No WRX, or STI hatch anymore from Subie, just the sedan version. Forcing me to look elsewhere at the moment.

Yep, slim pickings for hatches.
