Default Refreshed springs, shocks & stone guards

To mark 100k miles and its 18th birthday, my car got new Koni FSDs and M033 springs, sourced from Carnewal with four day delivery. Performance, my long-time shop, installed them last week and did a corner weight and alignment. The rear is ROW height and the front is ROW +3 mm. I should have adequate clearance for speed bumps and normal winter driving.

FD Motorsport supplied a Golden Rod, installed by Performance, and new stone guards. Cavallo, a high end body shop in the area, required 7+ hours to remove the original stone guards. No paint was damaged.

The car now looks and drives the way it should have from new. Two pictures on the on newly refinished 17" aftermarket twists and Dunlop snows:

It's great to have clear stone guards again.

No more SUV height

I am interested to read your review of the golden rod only.

Default Review

I have had the Golden Rods predecessor, the Platinum rod, in my car for 3+ years. It was installed at Darin's shop. He also installed the Factory Short Shift kit at the same time.

Shifting is crisp and I never miss a gear. All the slop is gone out of the linkage.

7+ hours to remove the stone guards at a body shop? I took my original ones off last year with a heat gun, WD-40, and an old credit card and it took three hours to get the glue off and no paint damage. Even with them falling apart with every tug it took nowhere near seven hours.

Hope you enjoy the new suspension setup, I'm in the midst of updating mine too, can't wait to see the difference. I put the Goldenrod in last year as well, it's awesome! Enjoy!

+1 on the new guards making a huge difference. I did the same suspension from Gert at the end of last year. Mine's at ROW (sport) and it drives awesome on the street, I think you are going to love it.
