Default 993 18" Turbo rims on a 1994-C2

I've heard that I'm not supposed to use these rims on my car?

Does anyone have a past experience of this?

Porsche saids I'll wear out my tires within only a couple of miles and driving my car with those rims is not recomended.

The rims and new tires I bought is fitted on my car now and everything seems just fine at the moment.

There is a steering rack brace to add for '95 and earlier when running 18s. Relatively cheap around $45, from memory - sorry don't have part no.

Cheers, Maurice

When you say 94 C2, I assume you're still talking about a 993 and not a 964, right? I think you guys in Europe got the 993 in 94...

I'm not an expert but wearing the tires out in a couple of miles doesn't sound right to me in the slightest. Maybe more knowledgeable people can chime in regarding some weird tire issue that I'm unaware of.

Part # for steering rack brace: 993-347-131-02

Part # for screws (buy 2 ): 999-218-103-09

This is a bunch of BS on behalf of the dealer!!! Oh my... Yes there is a $40 steering rack support part that goes on the steering column and then you can safely use 18"s. The brace is there to support the additional weight of the 18's mainly so I would not really push the car without it, but I run it on my street 993 without a problem for over 6 months...

If the wheels in question are off a 993 Turbo, the rears will not fit a narrow body car properly. You need to use the Turbo wheels made specifically for the narrow body.

Turbo rear wheel: 10" x 18" - ET40
Narrow Body rear wheel: 10" x 18" - ET65
