Group Buy Fabspeed Exhaust 993?
I have been talking to Alex @ Fabspeed about a possible Group Buy for 993 Rennlisters. In my case, I want to repurchase*** the Fabspeed X pipe with Cat Bypass, or maybe even 200 cell cats.
I run Fabspeed Maxflows...they will be on the buy list too.
Sound...you need to of course hear the set up installed. But according to my ears, the sound is not overly aggressive...in fact I love it. I have most of the sound deadening out of my car, and I find the should to be pleasant. Note, I am not deaf...have excellent hearing.
I want to pull the trigger by January 29th. So far the members of the Group are:
-Martin s. (That's me)
-911Leen
***I was taking the car back to stock exhaust for CA emissions, and for Laguna Seca, a 90 dB sound limit....so I sold off the X pipes and Cat Delete. OK so I passed sound at Laguna Seca, and CA emissions too , but damn do I miss the extra HP and torque that I got from the Fabspeed X pipe and Cat By Pass pipes. As I recall, the car put out 266 HP to the rear wheels with Fabspeed, and 239 with stock cat and sporty mufflers. The dyno was done on a DynoJet, SAE smoothing 5. I felt that it was too high so I had another dyno done, came in at 267. Conclusion, adding a Fabspeed X pipe and cat bypass pipes is the most cost effective way to pick up 27 to 28 HP. Believe me when I tell you, on the track it makes a big difference. In our Club we calculate that there is a 7HP per 100 Lbs relationship. So adding 27 to 28 HP is significant.
I have run at 239, and at 266...I prefer the latter, you will too. On the enclosure, you'll need to double click on the dyno sheet image.

Martin many thanks for initiating the group buy and I look forward to working with yourself and any others interested in the 993 product line. The air-cooled Porsche's have some great untapped potential, and this is a great opportunity to access the sound and performance these cars should have come with from factory.
Please PM, email, or call me with any questions

Solid deal, you've got my attention. So, my Fister stage 3's would be a bit to loud i gather, would definitely need to go with stage 1 or 2. My guess is that the fabspeed sport-cat w/ stage 2 is louder than stock cat w/ stage 3.
Cemoto or Ilko do you guys have a sound clips by chance? thanks

Note - everyone gets too specific with Bischoff vs. Gillet. When I got my Fister it didn't matter. If it was 1 the "donut" was part of the pipe. If the other, it just took a $10 Porsche "donut" to adapt (shown in OEM package inside the lower strap).

The connection between the cat and heat exchangers is different on Gillet vs Bischoff

I've driven behind Ilko's car many times and it sounds fantastic just with LPPM (I don't even know what this stands for), Fister 1 basically. It's tame at idle and low RPMs and wakes the hell up at higher RPMs.
