Default VW/Dynaudio soft dome mid-range driver - 6 0hm

For the sake of time (and battery)... I'll broadcast this here ....

Hey Gent's ... Pardon.... For the several weeks of "Missing-in-action"....
Owed are replies to several of your PM's sitting in the Rennlist In-box. Confirmed are 3 pairs of Dyn's, new. Its Feb. 25 and I'm back in country, its the first time in weeks to have connectivity, if for the duration of a brief layover before it is wheels up of the last leg.

Confirmed are 3 pair of the Dyn's. First come, first served. There's 3 PM's from a 3 - 4 weeks ago ... you know who you are. I'll touch base over the weekend, if not, certainly on Monday.

Tom 993 in St. Paul, Minnny... Don't dare mail any $ contribution. Nice touch, however not necessary. Our treat for a fellow "Old-timer Porschelist'r" from the early days before the Rennlist.com nomenclature. Yes,,, I'll take one of your coupe's rear parcel shelf Hi-Fi speaker in exchange for a working Hi-Fi rear speaker from my 993. Not in this lifetime will an audio signal pass through the now dormant rear shelf speakers in my 993 coupe. You're welcome. Next week we can work through the details...

Cheers, Gotta zoom. M/S

Received a couple of PM's regarding the VW/Dynaudio mid-range speakers for our 993's that I need to respond too. There should be two maybe three Dyn pairs left after working through an August commitment with a fellow Rennlist'r IIRC there are a few Dyn pairs left. One pair for myself and a future project, a second pair for a fellow Minn'y 993 Rennlist'r.

got an email from sonnen today...

"I know our air-cooled owners have been waiting a long time. Porsche just released the USA ver. of the Porsche Classic Radio Navigation

Orders can be placed today for the kit using part number 91164529100 an MSRP of $1250

our price $1108.52

The Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System.

Classic on the outside, high-tech on the inside: Porsche Classic presents the new Radio Navigation System for Classic Porsche models. Available for all Classic models with DIN1 slot, from the 911 F to the 911 (Type 993), as well as for four and eight-cylinder vehicles, excluding the 356. For this edition, the objective was to make further improvements and expand the device functionality in all areas through extensive testing.

The device fits seamlessly in the dashboard, with two different **** designs to suit vintage vehicle designs. The operating logic itself is based on the current Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and its user-friendliness is evident when using the 3.5-inch touchscreen.

FM and AM radio reception was enhanced through factory-fitted antennas and the country-specific navigation has been tested through test drives in both Canada and the USA. The output of 4x45 watts delivers full sound however the original factory-fitted sound system with amplifier can also be installed directly or through an adapter lead - available for order with part number 91164220901. Note that the output of the originally installed amplifier may be lower than the navigation device.

The system features iPhone, iPod, USB and AUX interfaces, allowing you to control external music sources from the display. Bluetooth functionality means that you can make calls directly from your vehicle.

Overall, the classic design of the Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System reflects the device's analogue heritage, while the powerful sound echoes the digital future.

Sunset was consistent... There is not a lot of margin in them from what I could understand. I expect they will go quick as they mentioned they've had a lot of calls.

Anyone know: Is the navigation GPS or CD? Subscription? Is it plug and play with CR1 harness or is an adopter connection needed?

I just ordered one. I have the hifi option and plan to also replace the speakers and amp. Focal speakers and Mosconi amp. They will all fit under stock grills and amp under seat. I'll provide a review when installed.

Default Mosconi ? model?

schroed911 -
Will the Mosconi amplifier unit be the relatively newer model from the Gladen ONE series? Say the 130.4 w/ or w/o DSP filtering? Or say the 70 x 6 ch model? The chassis dimensions of a few models from the Gladen ONE amplifier series,,, look to fit under the passenger seat. Then again the Gladen D2 series model 80 x 6ch w/DSP filtering could do the trick... Will the upgrade maintain the existing HiFi options (#490) active wiring scheme of the door speakers? Or will passive XO's be fitted? Anyway, sounds like a great project. Good luck. If your local, I have a RTA if interested.

Wow sounds awesome and looking forward to the completed install update...I just installed the Continental head unit. I bypassed the Nokia amp and hooked up my new focal 165 component speakers directly to it using the Bergville F/X Hifi bypass cable. Focals are a big improvement so can only imagine with the mosconi amp.
