This might be interesting for some that have them :
The most overprized Porsche part for the 993 are the sport seats.
Currently, they are prized at $7,137 PER SEAT !!!!!!
We used to sell them at $6800/pair....
No need to look at our website, we removed the link :-(

Wow. As a sports seats owner, I think my car just appreciated in value. Frankly, I don't know why Porsche thinks they can get away with it. While I like them, I'm not sure I would pay that kind of money when Recaros go for much less. Mine doesn't even have the embossed Porsche logo. Porsche probably charges an extra $500 for that!
Personally, I think the most overpriced item is the LSD. It's a freakin' sportscar damnit. LSD should be standard equipment Even my cheapo Alfa Romeo Milano had it.

Most overpriced part I ever bought was a rubber strip that goes under the front bumper to protect again scraping against driveways.
Dang thing cost $ 110 (for a rubber strip about 2 feet long and 2 inch wide for crying out loud) and lasted exactly 2 months before it ripped on one side and was dangling from a single screw. The service manager who installed it was embarassed enough by the list price that he waived the installation charge.
Next time I'll buy the metal version from Gert!

That's just silly. IMO, they aren't that great to begin with. Not bad, just nothing special. And the way the leather keeps popping off the sides would drive me crazy. If I decide to replace my seats, I think I'll end up with the GT3's or Cobra Misano's, IMO better looking and lighter.
And now, a fraction of the price!

We rebuild all sorts of Porsche bits,engines,trans,susp.etc.
My favorite recently was the connecting rod hardware for the GT3rs and GT3 super cup engines. The rods each require 2 ti bolts,2 ti nuts and 2 steel washers. The price from our friends at PMNA are approx. $60,$50,$37 each.
Now bear in mind, the factory recomends that all these be replaced at each rebuild interval.Thats 30 hours according to their rebuild schedule.
And the best part, the required assembly lube that you need to properly torque them is sold by them for approx.$400......per ounce.
in all fairness, they have recently started using ARP hardware in steel,it is not as light, but the whole kit is $218 and it can be reused...go figure.
Happy shopping,jerry

Nah, it makes much more sense to just let them "sit" in there...
However, if someone has genuine 993 (or 964) RS leather bucket seats, I'll trade them right away!

The approx 1.5 inch brass bolt that anchors your seat belt receptacles is $70 if I remember correctly. Oh...and then there's those $99 rubber door seal moldings.
