Post Engine Sound Tray (cont'd)

It was my impression that one of the reasons for the tray was also improved airflow underneath the car, resulting in better aerodynamics. I also thought that the heating problems were not an issue unless really in countries with very hot climates.

Aerodynamics has nothing to do with it. All of the GT3 and GT2 race cars don't use the tray.

The tray was developed to reduce noise to meet the Swis specs.

You are right Rick... Any reason at all for having it on then, for other than "noise" read "music" reasons?

It does offer a bit of protection if you run something over.

I took off the trays off of my previous two 993s. I think one of them is still sitting in Steve Weiner's shop over at Rennsport Systems.
