993 FABSPEED Sport Cat X-Pipe
has anyone used FabSpeed Sport Cat X-Pipe for 993?
happy or not ...
is the 16 HP a reality or just a pipe dream?
please let me know... if not FabSpeed... what x-pipe do you have?
Thanks

I had one on my 993 when I purchased the car - I sold it. Maybe it offers a little more power but my numb a$$ couldn't tell. I wanted a bit more quiet so I went back to a factory cat.

I have it in my car. Coupled with the LPMM mufflers it made it the best sounding air-cooled Porsche I've ever owned. And it is measurably lighter than the stock cats.
I can't comment on the power gains. Our cars are bordering on antique at this stage. You'll never get a bolt-on engine mod that will transform the driving experience. Aurally, the above set up is hard to beat though.

I've modified everything from my 964 through 997.2. Can't say I've realized much (if anything) from software or hardware (cats / mufflers). I will say that I've now got FD Fister 2s on my 993 and the sound is intoxicating. Now that I've retired from the track I'm less concerned about weight / chasing a few HP and more interested in enjoying / experiencing the ride.

Installed
I have had the Fabspeed X-Pipe installed including the Maxflo & tips. My 993 96var is ROW and M150 (no cat/O2/lead option). Do I notice a difference? I installed a Wong chip at the same time. Definitely some more perceived torque but I can't say who claims the benefit.
What I do like is the clean look of the X-pipes and sound. Not OTT at idle or cruise (maybe a bit of drone), but a good meaningful note with the throttle down.

FWIW that's how my car came from the previous owner. It droned like crazy. I hate drone, will not tolerate it under any circumstances. Maybe the mufflers were an older design, I don't know. I couldn't wait to get rid of them. With the LPMM mufflers there is absolutely no drone whatsoever.

Drifting
I have the Fabspeed X-pipe with Fabspeed Sport Cats and their Maxflow mufflers. Originally, I had it paired with Fister Stage 3s, but it was too much of a good thing on a daily driver. Sounded great once cruising on the interstate, but around town, not so much...and I have a very high tolerance. The Maxflows are just a tad too quiet for me, so at some point I will be looking to trade them for Fister Stage 2s, which I think will be perfect!. I even had the cat-delete pipes connected to try and add some aggressive notes to my setup, but it wasn't any better and the smell was disgusting!
As for dyno numbers, I have no idea, but as another user mentioned, I love the simplicity, and it really is a thing of beauty!
