Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement

Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement
I would appreciate any information on removing the engine oil cooler line from the thermostat housing on my 1996 993. The connection puzzles me, I don't see a snap ring or anything to hold the line in the thermostat housing. Is a special tool required to remove the engine oil cooler line from the thermstat housing?
Thanks for any help

No special tools needed. You have to remove the line from the cooler up front first. Also need to remove all the clips and the like that hold the line in place as it goes back to the thermostat housing. There is also a clip with a small bolt or screw that must be there to keep the line from backing out, anyway remove that too. Then just pull the line forwards, that is toward the front of the car. The metal line where it goes into the housing has two green o-rings on it that hold it in.
This job is a PITA but not technically difficult.

Ron,
Thanks for the information. Can you remove the engine oil cooler lines with the thermostat housing attached to the vehicle? Also do you know if the two O rings come with the replacement engine oil cooler line or due you have to order them seperate?

Chris,
Thermostat housing is installed on oil tank which is attached to vehicle for install and removal of lines.
Yes O-rings are separate. They are expensive too as I recall, but after taking the thing apart I'd sure use new ones when I put it back together.
