Default LSD/ABD vs Motorsound

Looking at 2 993's. Both are similarly optioned except one has Limited slip and ABD and the other has motor sound. Kind of surprised to see these ordered independently of each other. Would have assumed that the buyer who wants LSD would also want motor sound....

Anyway, is one option more valuable or better then the other? From what i've read, the LSD is done after 30-40k mi. so it almost seems like it shouldn't be a consideration. Is ABD alone a good option to have? How about motor sound? I know this can be accomplished by adding fisters and an airbag cover if i wanted.

Just can't decided between 2 cars. HELP

LSD might be useful if you plan to track. Even if it's shot, it's cheaper to rebuild than to add from scratch.

ABD is really useless, only works under 40mph. It's traction control to get out of snow or mud.

I think, and others can correct me, the braking system with ABD has 3 channel ABS and a separate pump so the overall braking system is better. What it means in real life, I'm not sure.

The only thing desirable about motorsounds are OEM oval tips that are hard to find and cost a lot. The motorsound airbox can be had for 130 bucks or something like that.

I would place more value on LSD and better ABS as this is something hard and expensive to add. Motorsound is a BS option and irrelvant if you go with fisters and such.

Just the opposite, M220 is lsd +abd, this is a 4 channel system using a 4 channel abs pump and associated electronics, w/o this it is a 3 channel system.

I'd rather have ABD/LSD. MotorSound is a much cheaper mod and easy.

Piling on here.

No brainer. LSD gives a skilled driver the potential for a real performance improvement down the road. I'd value that over the cosmetic / slight auditory changes of Motorsound.

That's right!!! I, wrongfuly, thought regular was 2 channel and m220 had 3 channels...so i was off by a channel in my mind.

Fisters + air box cover + wide ovals = better than motor sound

Very helpful guys. Thanks!!

Will I ever regret not having LSD/ABD for purely street driving?

Maybe, but I would not let it be a deciding factor.

Whether or not the LSD is shot or not and whether you use ABD or not, the fact that the ABD option has 4 channel ABS is worth it.

This means each wheel is on its own ABS channel rather than having both rear wheels on one channel as in a normal 3 channel ABS system.

Also, if't you wanted to add the ABD option to a car that didn't have it, the price would be thousands for the ABS/ABD computer, LSD, wiring harness, brake lines, etc. and take many hours to install

Motor sound is exhaust tips, mufflers and an air box which can be had for around $1500 and installed in an hour or two.

+993! ^^^

If I had to choose between lsd/abd vs ms pkg on a car I was buying, and all other aspects were equal; lsd/abd hands down!

Anyone on the curve, actually driving the car, will proceed straight to a Motorsport diff. (Then there's the setup, and how much you want it to assist braking.)

While the Motorsports lsd's are great, you can have the stock street M220 lsd rebuilt w/ GT components to approach the that performance level.
