How to decipher VIN numbers?
Some of you know that I'm looking for a 97-98 C4S (preferably that is) Are there any impostors out there? How does one decipher VIN numbers for a Porsche. Is there a good website for some of this info?

VIN NUMBER
digit 1 = country of origin w=germany
digit 2 = manufacturer of orgin p=porsche,plymouth,precis
digit #3-8 = manufacturer model
digit 9 = verifying digit (1-9) or X
digit 10 = year of vehicle
digit 11 = manufacturer assembly plant local.
digit 12-17 = vehicle numerical sequence
