As a proud owner of a TDI, VW is giving me $500 VW Dealership Card as they "work tirelessly to develop a remedy." From what I can tell, I can use this at the VW parts counter.

Do you know of any 993 parts that are also in the VW parts catalog? I've been searching and found:

* Steering rack grease
* Those Dynaudo speakers (that I already have)
* Maybe a relay or two
* Wiper blade inserts

A bit of a long shot, but there has to be more out there. Anyone know of any VW bits that might be of value to a 993 owner?

If I can't find a good way to burn the $500, I may just have to trade in the coaler / oil burner / NOX emitter for a 2016 Golf R. I need the 290HP and AWD... for safety.

I got the same letter. Going to call and see if they'll sell/install a couple rear tires - for my 993...

Clear Euro turnsignals were used on Audis, but retain Porsche P/N. Foglights too, although I'm not sure if the foglight guts are different. That's a long shot though as those Audis never came stateside and they were Audis, not VWs.

Random screws, fasteners. Especially weird proprietary fasteners, like the threaded zip ties and such. Special nuts, washers, clips, etc.

Some of the relays are stamped VW.

You might check out the battery. I had mine replaced with a VW part and it's a perfect fit.

Actually lots of electrical connectors, small lamps, etc. are VW, Mercedes or BMW parts and can be had by using the part number cast into the part - the interesting thing here is the connector may NOT be available from Porsche but is from VW, BMW or Mercedes using the number.

This has baled me out several times.

Door lock (striker plates, 99353102901 & 99353103001) should be almost the same as from Karmann Ghia, but probably not available any more from VW.
