Post Back To Revs Preferences

This morning I added the Techron Cleaning Concentrate into the car gas tank. After that I filled it with 11 gals of gas. I spent 3 hours cruising around the area I live at (Palo Alto,CA).
Unusually for my driving preferences I tried to engine revolution high...around 4000-5000 revs.
First I kind-a was uncomfortable with such an engine work..but after a while of driving I started really like it.
Here is my main impression.
While driving in the city street (35 m/h limit) I didn't have to shift to third speed. So ..instead of going through all phases first-second-third-stop at the red light -first-second-third-stop at the stop sign...I now could drive constantly on second shift/speed.
At the highways with speed limit at 65m/h I neshiftedftet to fifth...staying at fourth...the revs were staying at 4000-4500 at the speed I had on highways. But the car seems to be more &enthusiasticstic". The engine produced aka Ferrari sound....and nice engine vibration through whole car body. By the way ..I've noticed that Fussualy ussualy are driven at high rev speed. Or at least they sound lievery timeverytime someone pass by.
The high revs could result better oil circulation. Which cbenefiticalefitical to the engine where the oil role is so important.
At the end it 993 is really sport car..then why should we keep the revs between 2000-3000...it seems porsche perform better with higher revs...
Till today my enginear enine revs were not higher then 3000...at the city and the highways...but after today "engine cleaning" ride I am about to change my preferences.
It would be interesting to know the way the others drive their cars.
Thanks!

Sorry guys,
I don't know what happened but a lot of words I typed at the message above have been messed up.
It is probably the result of spell check I did at the third software before I posted the message.
Once again, sorry for any inconveniences!

Sputnik...life with a 993 begins after 4000rpm at full throttle! While cruising on the highway at low RPM maybe a necessary evil for many reasons, an occassional visit to your local track will change your perspective about what a wonderfull machine the 993 is. You can also work out a bit your engine on your favorite twistes...
Personally I love hearing the engine sing at full throtle over 4000rpm enjoying the shove in the back from the torque and hp kicking in.
I definately recommend you to try on 2nd or third gear to rev the engine with full throttle all the way to the redline... Trust me its VERY addictive!

Our cars DO like to rev & the throttle response improves dramatically as you move past 4000 rpm. If you look at the torque & HP curves in your owners manual you'll know why. I spend a lot of time at higher revs perhaps selfishly forsaking better gas mileage for more grins per mile.

I (& others) have noticed that my car runs better & stronger after a DE weekend of high revs, lots of WOT, & nice hot oil.

I couldn't agree more. Track time in these cars are like a day at Disney Land for a kid, although you probably will feel like you're there as well (as a kid).
