Default PSS10, RS Sway Bars and Tarett Drop Links at ROW MO33 Height

I pulled the trigger on a new set of PSS10's and now i'm trying to figure out how to set up of the rest of the suspension. I'm having a hard time figuring out which way to go with the sway bars and drop links. Here's the back story: 1995 NB, daily driver (108k miles), 1-3 DE's/year, 17' Cup II's. Since, I drive the car every day I want to be able to get over speed bumps and in/out of driveways. Therefore, I'm thinking I'll set the ride height to ROW M030 (144mm/127mm). Here's are the questions: Will RS Sway bars (Part #'s 993-343-707-81 & 993-333-707-81) work at the ROW MO30 height? If so, would the sway bar be mounted above or below the lower control arm? Lastly, would I use the standard Tarett rear drop links (part #993RDLNK) or the curved RS style 180mm-205mm (993RSRDLNK)? Thanks in advance!

I believe the way the RS sways are designed, they can only be mounted one way (under). Don't think you can "flip" them.

FYI, I just mounted PSS10s and Taretts on my C4S, and the RH Tarett was just touching the factory sway bar. We turned the eccentric to a position where there was a little more space there (about 1/4"). Since the adjustment is in the Tarett, turning the eccentric was not an issue. Don't know how the RS sway will be. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I just got off the phone with Ian at Tarett and got some helpful insights. Ian believes that the RS sway bar can only be mounted below the lower control arm. Therefore, it will require the RS style curved drop links. After talking through the ride height issue, I don't think it will matter what the height is set at....Here's the rationale: Since the drop link that is attached to the shock body is a separate adjustment (threaded at the bottom of the shock) it isn't affected by the ride height adjustment which takes place on the top shock body threads. Comments/challenges are welcome!

The first question is if the PSS10's can be raised up to ROW M030 height. There has been a few threads on how high you can go with PSS10's.

FWI ... I have a 95 NB w/ PSS 10's, M030 front ARB, RS rear ARB w/ Tarret RS droplinks ... needed the Tarret links to make it work. Ride height is 125 front and 126 rear. 18 inch wheels. The Porsche RS links were NLA earlier this year, not sure if that is still true. The car sees 1-3 DE's a year and shares DD use with an Acura MDX.

Currently the rear ARB is set in the middle and the PSS 10's are at 6 and 4. Works great at the track and seems fine on the street. I sometimes soften up the PSS 10's when taking rides with the wife. I'm very happy with the setup.

Where are you measuring from? There is usually a much bigger difference between front and rear, at least if done to spec.

I had Chris Cervelli do the install and race alignment ... I agree there is usually more difference between front and rear ... but so far I really like this setup ... The measurements come from his alignment sheet using Beisbarth equipment... set to RS specs except the ride height. I only have one DE and a load of local driving but it is an improvement

If Chris did it's right. He did mine as well. Are those the height measurements he gave you or yours from the bumpers?

I don't mean to hijack the thread ...

The numbers come straight from the alignment printout ... I was looking at Bill Verburg's ride height table and his car, the RSR cup and the GT2 EVO settings are all within 4 mm of being even ... although they are all about 30 mm's lower ... :-) I am not driving one of those.

I worked with Chris to get a setup to address issues with the old setup and my driving ... his suggestions are the right improvement to the setup ... now I have to work on my driving ... :-)

996 GT2 good luck with your new setup ...
