Default Anyone converted headlight bulbs to LED?

Has anyone converted their headlight bulbs to LED? I'm seeing LED replacement bulbs starting to make their way into the market. I'm wondering if anyone has taken the plunge yet. If so, what improvements were realized and what problems (if any) were encountered with the upgrade.

I need to replace bulbs in my Yukon and saw that LED was available. I have not seen any comparisons with HID. I did find a Consumer Report article that did not like OEM LED light setups. Problem was not enough light.

Wife's Prius has LED headlights and they are the best lights I have ever seen.

I spoke with the aftermarket guys who sell a kit for the Yukon. He said that the LED does not throw as much light as the HIDs, so I ordered an HID kit.

I have Hids on dip and LEDs on main these:-led-headlight-kits-generation3-philips

Hids from ToreB and Leds from http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/headlamp-cree-led.

The Leds are amazing in price and performance but I wouldn't like to run them too long probably gets quite hot in there.

Every light, external and internal, on my new Lincoln MKZ hybrid are LED. The headlights are extremely bright.

I thought LED's were significantly cooler than anything else on the market.

The main issue to consider is the lensing of the headlight glass. You can put a 1000W bulb in a cars headlight, but if the lensing isnt meant for it, itll look like ****. Position of the replacement bulb within the glass is important but still other factors play a big role. HIDs work great, and Tore's kit is cheap, practical, and easy to install.

Also, LEDs make considerably less heat than filament bulbs because they use about 1/5th the power and dont output IR wavelengths.

Yeah....those results show HID headlight conversion information and LED clearance/marker/tail/turn/brake light conversions. Thanks for the [attempted] help, though. I know they're available, that's not what I was asking. I was asking what, if any, people's experiences were with their LED headlight conversion.

I am afraid of an LED trend.

Another Rennlister and I were talking about LED headlight replacement options and I'm leaning toward ToreB's HID conversion for lows and LEDs for highs - but I also have concerns about the heat that Endoman has. There are bulbs out now that have passive head dissipation (vs. fans).

Anyone running LED bulbs like this in either high or low beam configurations:

Amazon.com: Rolinger 5th Generation LED Headlights Kit - H4 Hi/Lo Beam CREE Bright 40W*2 360 Degree 6000LM LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit with Flexible Tinned Copper Braid - Fit for Toyota,Camery,Coralla,Ford,Silverado,Fusion,CRV,Civic,Accord,CHEROKEE: Automotive Amazon.com: Rolinger 5th Generation LED Headlights Kit - H4 Hi/Lo Beam CREE Bright 40W*2 360 Degree 6000LM LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit with Flexible Tinned Copper Braid - Fit for Toyota,Camery,Coralla,Ford,Silverado,Fusion,CRV,Civic,Accord,CHEROKEE: Automotive

The flexible copper braid looks like a good heat exchange with a lot of surface area, and there's decent room behind the high beam in the 993 headlight housing.

I have pretty good eyesight and can see where I'm going. Why, other than to be cool, should I change to LEDs or HIDs?
