Default Decklid options advice, RS clone journey help

Has anyone swapped out the carrera motorized deck lid with an RS style? The whole decklid not just the spoiler.
Is there a write up?
I can buy the whole rear decklid with rs style spoiler same color as my car OEM for $450, good deal? Or no?
Or is it cheaper and possible to just swap out the spoiler portion without the whole deck lid?

Thanks

Yes EZPZ. Unplug the wire connector on passenger side hinge. Then undo 2 screws on each side.

I assume your car is black? Let me know if you decide to sell your original motorized deck lid. It would be ideal if you have the basket handle.

Painted to match, OEM or not, a good deal. Will cost that much to match paint alone.

Install is 2-3 out of 10. Challenge is more body alignment gaps and latch. As said wiring is just unplug.

Struts may need replacement, while you are in there ...

sounds like a great deal if its what youre looking for. An aftermarket RS wing is around that price without decklid and painting. If you pass please let me know, I'd love to pick it up.

Got the lid
Wing is fiberglass so I'm thinking it's not oem
I also peeled the carrera emblem off the lid. Tried to clean it up but it looks like the glue has tarnished the paint for good. Unless somebody knows a way of getting it out.

The wing looks great! I recently added the same to my black NB 993. Amazing the transition it does to the car.

You might be able to get the stains out of the clear from the emblem with polishing. It will likely need a fairly aggressive pad (wool) and polish and work your way finer.

Another option is take it to a detailer and have them do it if your not comfortable doing it yourself. Always good to use a paint meter to gauge thickness.

Well I was making some progress. But soon I was into the grey primer. 😥
I think a new badge will cover most of it.
Really sucks. Paint is thinner than I thought. Didn't take much to get to the primer.
