Default Need rebuildable alternator

Had a mishap while rebuilding my alternator. The rotor is still useable but I lost a good portion of my 12 point contact area to hold the shaft while replacing/adjusting the belts.

Looking for a used alternator in need of a full rebuild - bad bearings.

Bosch alternator # 0 120 468 125

Please offer everything if you have...

Thanks,

If you're up for it, one could always weld the head of a socket head (Allen) bolt to the end of the shaft.

Not sure I want to go that way. Besides creating a weak/soft spot next to the weld metal under high heat does funny things, and I might wind up with a warped shaft.

I've lost maybe a good 1.5mm out of 6mm total tool depth which still might be enough to service the belts over the remaining life of the alternator. Still weighing my options. Porsche didn't give us a lot of depth to work with...

For all those that attempt an alternator rebuild make sure to use a hex head socket cap screw inside the 12-point before seating the bearing puller... I got carried away with a stubborn front bearing!

Appreciate the input!

I stacked 2 quarters on the shaft end which deformed as expected while allowing the puller to self-center on the shaft. This worked well. Well, except I'm out 50 cents now...
