Thanks! Those were my main search criteria when shopping for the car (and it had to be a 6-speed). Took me 6 months to find one that met all three criteria!

Mine became a daily driver 3 months ago and I love it. I learn more about the car as a daily driver rather than weekend-only car.

Again, thanks! I need to update the site, though. The pics don't show the Euro turbo front bumper, tinted windows, colored wheel crests, etc...

Maybe a project for tomorrow...

I had a '85 Turbolook coupe when I bought the 993. It was a really nice car, but after acclimating to the 993, (10 minutes, maybe), I knew I wouldn't want to drive the '85 much if at all.

I second the recommendation to buy a 993 4WD cab and a hardtop for the winters.

I was not aware that there is a hard top option for a 993 cab. 996 yes, 993 cab is news to me.

on and off for 5 years with different 911's and no problems. My '97 c4s was the most enjoyable and my clubsport is virtually impossible due to no power windows, AC or passenger sun visor.

Thanks for all the input. I knew I could count on this board for good information. It seems like reliability and maintenance are not issues. Have to think about the snow and salt though (we do get a bit of that here in Pennsylvania). I would run good snow tires on cheaper wheels for the worst winter months, but that's only about two to three months a year. Looks like it's doable, and I can certainly use the theraputic value of driving home from the office in the Porsche. I am going to start looking for the right car. In the meantime, any more experiences with 993's as year-around daily drivers is appreciated.

Pig4bill -- Your suggestion to part with the 89 cab and get a 993 cab with a hardtop for the winter makes a lot of sense, but I can't bring myself to part with it. These cars are addictive. When I first joined this board, I had just got my 89 cab, and I questioned the sanity of all the members with mutiple Porsches. Now I understand.
